SHERLOCK SEASON 2 SYNOPSISīBC One has ordered a second season of three 90-minute episodes for broadcast in the fall of 2011. Sherlock had good audience scores, and received many positive reviews, including regarding the contemporary adaptation of Conan Doyle's work and acting performances, and the first season won the BAFTA Award for Best drama series and a Peabody Award in 2011. In France, the series was broadcast first on France 4 from January 1, 2011, then on France 2 from July 15, 2011, in Switzerland from Apon RTS Un, and in Quebec from on ICI Radio-Canada Télé. Produced by Hartswood Films and BBC Wales for the BBC and WGBH Boston for its anthology Masterpiece series, it is a modern adaptation of The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes written by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, with Benedict Cumberbatch in the title role and Martin Freeman in that of Doctor Watson.
